Do you have what it takes?

Welcome to leadership. The spotlight is on you now. Every success is just an expectation, but a single failure is unacceptable. When the leader falls, everyone watches with bated breath. They see the leader fallen and broken. A crowd gathers, some hurl insults, others are frightened, and many gloat. But they all want to know only one thing: How is this going to turn out?

The uncanny ability of the leader to pick themselves up off the mat and face their opponent for another round is something unreasonable to the watchers. Why would anyone willingly pit themselves against these kinds of odds? When the leader fails, there is fallout. People begin to question your ability to lead. During those moments of failure, an internal war begins in the tormented heart of the leader. On one side you acknowledge the person you are in the present and on the other stands the leader you believe you will become. Everyone can see the present failure and only you can see the future where the vision will be realized. But in order to get to that place, you must force yourself to move. There will be a story to tell one day, there will be forgiveness ahead, but only if you can keep getting up. Are you down for the count?
